Every gamers dream is to eventually work in the gaming industry. Wouldn't it be great to help concept and build the games you get to play? Well, if that's your goal then getting a college degree in game design is a step in the right direction. Bellevue University is one of the schools that offer this program. The great thing about Bellevue is that if you don't feel like picking up and moving to Nashville, Tennessee- you don't have to! Bellevue University’s Bachelor of Science in Gaming and Simulation degree is a professional-level degree completion program offered completely online. Watch this clip for more details on gigs in gaming.

Does Microsoft accept degrees from online colleges? i.e. Bellevue University, DeVry University, etc.? If so, this would greatly expand my college choices. I really am interested in the Bellevue University G&S degree, it looks great for my goals.

Thanks for the great post. I'm definitely going to look into this more!
Of course! Microsoft doesn't have a designated list of schools that we hire from- in fact I know of a few Microsoft employees who opted for work experiance rather than a college degree. It's all about finding the right person for the job.
Bummed I missed GDC this year, being that it's just down the road from me. Laura, I hope you enjoyed your visit to ATX!
